Soundtrack
Blinded by the lights is an example of a song which is featured within Kidulthood. It has firm beats within it which make it more intense for the persons listening to it. It is made to have an effect on you as you can feel this beat that goes on throughout the whole song. The song tells a story of a mans night out. It is conveyed through a voice which isn't as harsh as the beat given. He is talking in a normal voice which suggests the story that he is telling isn't out of the normal. As well as this the beat tells us this too. It is repeated over and over in the song showing us that this is a routine thing that happens rather than something that doesn't happen a lot. There is a short amount of singing within it that pops up quite a bit. It makes the song catchy, keeping it in the listeners heads. After watching the film, when I listen to this song I can only see the image track that it goes with. The image track and this go together very well. I hear it I can imagine being one of the characters in the scene. This song is really good in conveying what's going on and leaves an effect on the audience permanently.
Drawing board is another example of a song however, this is in Bullet Boy. Its quite a calm and relaxed song which is chilled. This creates a softer atmosphere as it has lots of flow. The flow makes the listeners feel relaxed. However, there is a good beat to it which sticks in to your head. The song fits the story slightly and is like its describing the mums point of view. The mum is what keeps everything together, she has to do everything. She has no help from her two sons. She does everything by herself with two boys depending on her. She has to carry on with her life like this. The song works well because the image track doesn't hugely focus on the mother and its good to have the soundtrack balance that out. The sound track lets the audience in to her life.
To find examples that I could potentially use for our opening sequence I went on to incomptech and decided on a selection I felt suited.
I felt that this was appropriate because it is quite chilled however, does have a good beat to it. Also, it sounds as if you could put a story alongside it.
This is a good piece of music to have within our opening sequence because it captures emotion within it. It would go well along with our story line also because it sounds like an introduction to a story and there are better bits and worse bits. This can be seen as happy and sad.
Finally I found this song. It has harsh percussion a lot like blinded by the lights. It sounds like someone is up to something therefore it could give action to the sequence.
